1986 — Campo Santo, Ghent

Jan Dries once again chooses peat as a material but this time creates tree shadows on the hill with it. From an optical point of view, the peat lines can’t be seen as results of one single solar position. On the contrary, the Sun seems to be everywhere and time can not be measured. The piece refers to an old statement of his: “now - once - ever”.
